A Manus Alba project
A supplement developed to support myelin health in patients with demyelinating diseases.
Myelinor is a food supplement developed in collaboration with experts in the field of demyelinating diseases. Its formulation is the result of careful scientific work aimed at identifying substances that can support myelin health.
It is not a drug and does not replace therapies prescribed by a doctor. Myelinor is designed as a complementary support to conventional therapy, to improve the quality of life of patients.
Each component was selected based on available scientific evidence regarding its potential role in supporting myelin metabolism and reducing oxidative stress.
Three components selected for their neuroprotective potential.
A very long chain fatty acid (C24:1) naturally present in myelin. It plays a fundamental structural role in the formation and maintenance of myelin sheaths. It may help reduce VLCFA accumulation in ALD patients.
A pentacyclic triterpene with anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties. Preclinical studies suggest a potential effect of stimulating remyelination and protecting neurons from oxidative stress.
A precursor of glutathione, the main cellular antioxidant. It helps reduce oxidative stress in the central nervous system, which is often elevated in demyelinating diseases.
The Myelinor protocol involves daily intake of the supplement according to the treating physician's instructions. There is no universal dosage: it must be agreed with the neurologist based on the patient's individual characteristics.
Myelinor is not an emergency treatment nor a substitute for disease-modifying therapies. It is proposed as a long-term support tool for patients in stable phase or under surveillance.
The selection of Myelinor's ingredients is based on studies published in international scientific literature regarding VLCFA metabolism, the neuroprotective properties of triterpenes, and the role of oxidative stress in demyelinating diseases.
Manus Alba promotes the collection of observational data from patients using Myelinor, with the aim of contributing to scientific literature on the effectiveness of integrative approaches in rare diseases.
